PoB Recommends: Our guide to the Coronation across the British Isles
1 March 2023
Royalty roams the British Isles
The highly anticipated Coronation of King Charles III is set to be an occasion of pageantry and unprecedented grandeur, and there is no place more fitting to celebrate this historic ceremony than one of the PoB Hotels. Some of the best independent hotels across the British Isles have incredible royal links, including Pale Hall, and Cromlix, and these have now been brought together by our exclusive Coronation Concierge, ready and waiting to be booked for a bespoke Coronation staycation.
The Coronation Concierge is a special service available 24 hours a day, with a dedicated, knowledgeable Concierge on call to inform PoB Hotels’ guests of the special offerings and limited-edition experiences available at some of the collection’s hotels, all of which have strong links with King Charles or the Royal family.
From historic castles in Scotland, to expansive countryside estates in Devon or right in the bustling heart of London, many of the PoB Hotels members have the royal seal of approval to make your Coronation celebrations one to remember. Whether you are looking for a regal spa package, a royal afternoon tea, or a three-course meal fit for a king, the Coronation Concierge is there to provide guests with an abundance of offerings to choose from.
Many of the PoB Hotels members are proud of their Royal links and personal connections to King Charles III. For example, Fingal in Edinburgh is the sister-ship of the Royal Yacht Britannia, the former floating palace, whilst Prestonfield House was visited by Queen Elizabeth during her 80th Birthday celebrations in Scotland, and built by the same architect Sir William Bruce upon his completion of the Palace of Holyroodhouse Palace in 1697. The Fife Arms is home to a number of drawings by Queen Victoria and King Charles III and is located just 15 minutes from Balmoral Castle, and the historic The Relais Henley is where the original Charles - King Charles I - stayed whilst on his travels between London and Oxford.
The Coronation Concierge will guide guests on their own Royal-themed journey at any one of the included PoB Hotels. Cromlix’s ‘A stay fit for a King’ package includes overnight accommodation in one of the hotel’s luxurious rooms before touring Scone Palace, the Crowning place of Scottish Kings. Whilst Bovey Castle invites you to experience the grand treatment with a ‘Royal Estate Tour’, an adventurous 45-minute tour in the hotel’s own Land Rover Defender, which includes a 4x4 off-road experience…the favoured method of transport by the Royals. These are just some examples of the many diverse experiences on offer from our hotels over the Coronation period and beyond.
Launching on 1st March, PoB Hotels’ Coronation Concierge awaits to treat you like royalty… Call 0330 236 2944 now to plan your stay.
