Matfen Hall are committed to increasing the sustainability of the services they offer.
The hotel's heating and hot water is provided from their own biomass plant, fuelled by locally sourced wood shavings.
Whilst the Hall retains several original fireplaces, these are fuelled by kiln dried logs from the estate, where a replanting programme is ongoing.
