Calcot & Spa is on a mission to create a sustainable culture throughout the hotel.
They run an active CSR and Green Committee, both to drive existing policies and to seek new initiatives.
They offer guests the option to reuse rather than replace towels and bed linen, promotional material is available via PDFs, bedrooms are fitted with LED light bulbs, correspondence with colleagues, guests and suppliers is done electronically where possible, and four EV charging ports have been installed in the car park.
Their bottled water supplier, Belu invests in WaterAid, an international charity that transforms lives by improving access to safe water, hygiene and sanitation.
They encourage guests to enjoy the rewilded meadowland and the nature trail by offering bikes and maps. This project is ongoing with annual bird and flower surveys, tree planting each year, and their very own beehives.
They buy from local and sustainable sources wherever possible. Their waste management initiatives aim to completely off-setting their carbon emission by segregation of waste.
Calcot & Spa make a conscious effort to employ candidates from the local area where possible. They have a good working relationship with local colleges and schools and support local companies including Woodchester Valley Vineyard, Bramley, Stroud Brewery, and Lavender Bakehouse.
