Seven of the best online sellers of antique and vintage homewares

Art Gallery

Over the past year, the demand for vintage and antique homewares has never been stronger.

Here is a round-up of seven of the most interesting online sellers, specialising in everything from vintage lighting to 80s tableware.

LLG Found

Launched on Instagram in the depths of lockdown by ex-fashion editor and founder of libertylondongirl.com, Sasha Wilkins, LLG FOUND originally focused on 19th & early 20th century blue & white china, but has expanded into selling antique mahogany furniture, vintage lighting, and eclectic decorative pieces for the home. Victorian Staffordshire dogs and 1950s Champagne coupes also feature heavily in her weekly edits. She also sources pieces for private clients upon request.

Curatedware

Founder Alana started CURATEDWARE in 2020, after years spent sourcing vintage homeware for her own home and friends. She specialises in sourcing the stylish, colourful and practical pieces of homeware that she loves from the 70s and 80s. They include unusual vintage glassware and pottery in perfect condition from iconic manufacturers and designers like Hornsea, Iittala, and Terence Conran.

The Light Clinic

Founded by Karlijn Bijvoet, The Light Clinic sources and sympathetically upcycles antique porcelain and lighting to create the perfect combination of aged personality with contemporary finish. All the lamps are thoroughly cleaned, rewired and PAT safety tested so you can sleep safe in the knowledge that not only will they make your beautiful home look even more wonderful, they won’t burn it down. Prices start at £70.

Vantage Living

After enviously watching her father and brother buy and sell antiques sourced from all over Europe, founder Katie Ridges finally decided to join the family trade. With a background in fashion she understands interiors trends, but places huge importance on sourcing high quality, timeless pieces. Recent favourite finds have included a 1980s faux bamboo Harrod’s bedroom set, a huge French lattice ceramic pedestal dish, and a series of wonderful bobbin turned chairs.

The Picture Gallery

Specialising in bringing sophisticated and stylish original art into the home, and collecting only what they would personally hang in their own space, The Picture Gallery edit follows a clear house taste, stocking beautifully painted, decorative, eye-catching works by both known and lesser-known artists from the 1920’s through to the modern day. Each painting is thoughtfully and artistically framed, as they strive to either conserve original antique and vintage frames or hand-make bespoke frames.

Teeny Tiny Emporium

Instagram only vintage furniture business the Teeny Tiny Emporium makes a point of only selling items that they would have in their own homes – which makes sense, given the fashion editor background of one of the founders. They specialise in versatile pieces that could sit in a lounge, bedroom or bathroom, painted side tables, bedsides, and unusual shelves. They also take commissions and will source specific pieces for clients upon request.

Maud Vaughan Interiors

Sitting at the more upscale end of the online market, the carefully curated Instagram feed of Maud Vaughan Interiors is always a joy to behold. Selling a carefully selected edit of decorative antiques and 20th century interiors, her ever changing stock is sourced from all over Europe and the US with a surprising mix which has included, vintage Murano glass, 1980s American pencil reed furniture, 1970s Danish lighting and vintage Italian marble. The resulting aesthetic is fresh, stylish and surprisingly contemporary.
