A royal stay in Henley-on-Thames
A Stay Fit for a King
£1,424
During this year of Royal celebrations, guests can book a dedicated two-night stay in a King Charles I Suite, including breakfast, Champagne afternoon tea, three-course dinner on both evenings, and a private skippered launch on the Thames with a Champagne picnic lunch served on board.
In the days of slow travelling, and when it was a private Residence, King Charles I stopped on his way from London to Oxford in 1632, and again in 1642 with Prince Rupert, during the English Civil War. Prince Rupert painted the Royal Coat of Arms which is still preserved over the fireplace in room 108.
